Hello my name is Cristina Rodriguez. I live with my wonderful husband, my independent, cute, strong-willed daughter, and our charming mini golden-doodle, Charlie. I'm a part-time registered nurse on the mom/baby unit. My world has always been split between the arts and sciences, but the sciences always seemed to take priority. Sadly, my artistic side had to live in the shadows for too long, but no more!
Life has a way of throwing you surprises, sometimes good and sometimes bad. I was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 35. I am thankfully now in remission. My diagnosis solidified the importance of really living life to the fullest, without holding back. It gave me the push I needed to take my creative artsy side out of hiding. I decided to start doing photography part-time and created Paint by Lens Photography.
I've taken numerous photography classes on newborn safety, posing, editing, and lighting. I am certified in CPR, and I complete the NRP (neonatal resuscitation program) every year. I have a passion for preserving special moments, and photography allows me to accomplish this. I want to capture people as they are, I want my photographs to tell your story, and represent your beautiful selves. I would love the chance to work with you.
I love photography because it gives us a way to capture moments in time. It gives us a way to re-visit our pasts. It can trigger memories that would have otherwise been forgotten. A photograph is an important way of documenting life's precious moments. It locks in memories and magically gives us a way to freeze time. Looking at photographs can evoke such deep strong feelings of joy, wonderment, and happiness by transporting us to those sweet moments in life filled with warmth and love.
I love photography because it gives me the ability to provide people with a visual way to look back at their lives. I love being able to show people how beautiful they really are. I especially love witnessing and showcasing the genuineness, and love, I see between you.
My studio is setup in my home in the basement. It is located in Nepean (Ottawa), Ontario, near baseline and greenbank, in the lovely neighbourhood of Leslie Park.
I have a mini golden-doodle, but he won't be in the studio space.
