Mini photoshoots are a great way to capture special events and seasonal celebrations in an affordable way. Minis typically last only 15 mins. These sessions may be short but the photographs that are captured can be pretty amazing. Mini photoshoots can include but are not limited to sunflower minis, lavender minis, beach minis, fall minis, Christmas minis, Easter minis, Valentine's day minis, etc.

How to Prepare for Mini Photoshoots

• Select clothing that reflects the season and that compliments the location. Layers can add variety to your photos.
• If you're coming with family and/or friends, coordinate colours without being too matchy-matchy.
• Consider bringing small props that fit the theme, such as blankets for a fall session or toys for a beach session.
• For outdoor mini shoots I usually like to schedule sessions during the “golden hour” because of the beautiful natural light. Golden hour happens shortly after sunrise or  1-2 hours before sunset.
• I will keep an eye on the forecast and have a backup plan in case of inclement weather, especially for outdoor sessions. There will always be a back-up date for this reason.
• It doesn't hurt to spend some time in front of a mirror to find your best angles and poses. Relaxed, natural poses often work best. We are aiming for candid shots of course but knowing what works best for you helps me to take photos that you're going to feel good about and hopefully love!
• Make sure everyone involved has had water and a snack to keep energy levels up during the short session.
• Please discuss any specific shots or styles you’d like to achieve ahead of time to so we can try to make it happen.
• Try to arrive 5-10 mins before your session so you have enough time to settle in and get comfortable with the setting before your session starts.
• Mini sessions are meant to capture happiness and special moments, so enjoy and have fun!
