Why Family Photoshoots are Important

• Family photos capture special moments in time that can be appreciated for a lifetime and beyond.
• A family photoshoot provides an opportunity for everyone to be included in the photos, no one is excluded
• Families can document significant life events i.e. birthdays, anniversaries, or new additions to the family.
• High-quality family photographs can become treasured keepsakes, passed down through generations. I have some of my parents and grandparents when they were young that I really cherish.

How to Prepare for a Family Photoshoot

• Select a location, it can be somewhere comfortable and meaningful to you i.e. park, beach, or your home. Somewhere picturesque works too.
• Photos look best with coordinating outfits that reflect your family's style. Usually it best to avoid overly busy patterns.
• The best natural light happens during the golden hour. Golden hour can vary depending on the season. It occurs shortly after sunrise and 1-2 hours before sunset. Ideally it is best to schedule photoshoots around that time. Evening is the most ideal though. I understand that this schedule would not work with everyone, if golden hour photoshoots are not ideal for you, it's best to plan as close to the golden hour as possible. We can basically make anything work, but it is best to try to avoid high-noon (when the sun is at it's highest in the sky - usually around 12-2pm) which creates harsh shadows.

• Just be yourselves, pretend I'm not there. Candid moments make the best kind of photos
