Maternity Photoshoot - What to expect
Whether you are choosing a Lifestyle or Studio Maternity Photoshoot, the goal is the same. I'd love to showcase your cute baby bump and the experience of motherhood/parenthood. Of course, partners and your child/children are welcome.
I find everyday clothes, jeans, button up shirts, simple dresses (maxi or short) work really well in maternity photos. Please don't hesitate to ask if you need any guidance
If you have an inspiration board of some photographs/poses you have liked I would love it if you shared them with me. This will give me a better idea of what you want out of a photoshoot. Also, never hesitate to let me know if you have any ideas you want to incorporate in your shoot, we can brainstorm together!
LIFESTYLE MATERNITY PHOTOSHOOT
What you should think about:
- Location i.e. your house, favourite park, beach, garden, ice cream shop, favourite personal spot, etc. Paint by Lens Photography needs to know the location at least 2 weeks prior to the photoshoot.
- Outfits. Solid coloured clothing in neutral or earthy tones work best in nature photos. If wearing patterned clothing, subtle pattern usually look best.
- If you want to change your outfit, bring the additional outfits/shoes. A little mirror, extra make-up, and your hairbrush may come in handy.
STUDIO MATERNITY PHOTOSHOOT
What you should think about:
- Available background/backdrop colours: white, pecan, light beige, brick wall (I'm slowly adding to my collection).
- Outfits. Typically I find neutral and/or earthy toned solid coloured clothing look best in photos. If wearing patterned clothing, subtle patterns tend to look best. Bring a white, black, and/or neutral bra if you want to show off your bump. Jeans also work well in showcasing your baby bump.
- If you want to change your outfit, bring the additional outfits/shoes. A little mirror, extra make-up, and your hairbrush may come in handy.
